What Apple School Manager includes
Apple School Manager is Apple's free portal for schools. It's separate from Apple Business, which is for companies, and it adds what schools need: rosters, classes, and shared devices.

Devices that enroll themselves
With Automated Device Enrollment, school-owned iPads and Macs enroll in device management the first time they're turned on, and students can't remove it.

Student and staff accounts from your SIS
Managed Apple Accounts and classes are created from your student information system, such as PowerSchool, Infinite Campus, or Skyward, through a roster sync or file upload.

Classes for Classroom and Schoolwork
Rostered classes flow into Apple's Classroom and Schoolwork apps, so teachers can guide devices during a lesson and track student progress.

Apps and books in bulk
Buy app and book licenses in volume and assign them to devices or people. The school keeps the licenses from year to year.

Several students can use the same iPad, each signing in to their own account and work.
